Summer Schools 2010 - Meet the Teachers

Jessica Taylor (Miss Jess)

Miss Jess took her first dance class at the age of 3 and from there progressed through the graded examinations with the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD) and Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) syllabus. After leaving school, she went on to complete a performing arts National Diploma at Wiltshire college. At 18, Jess took up full-time dance training at Dance Academy South West, where she studied classes in Hip-hop, Contemporary, Ballet, Jazz, Modern, American Tap & Musical Theatre and gained her I.S.T.D teaching qualifications as well as gaining performing experience in various shows and performances.

Jess has achieved the Certificate in Dance Education teacher status and has many years teaching experience with both children and adults. She is currently acting Principal at Classique Academy of Dance whilst Miss J is pursuing a performing career and also runs her own dance school in Wiltshire. Miss Jess is now busy preparing lots of exciting surprises for the summer school so get set for a fun packed adventure!


Katie Murray (Miss Katie)

Katie Murray began her dance training at the age of 5 where she regularly took classes at Dance Arts Theatre School studying Ballet, Modern and Tap. At the age of 16 she went on to complete 3 years of Professional dance and teacher training at Dance Academy South West where she gained her F.D.I teaching qualifications with the I.S.T.D. After this Katie pursued her passion for dance and embarked on a professional performing career.

Some of Katie's contracts have included 6 months performing in the Dominican Republic, Lanzarote, and 10 Months in Italy performing and choreographing for the prestigious Centro Internazionale di Danza! Katie has also taught for Italia Conti Associates and Buckingham Dance Studios. She is now looking forward to working with Classique Academy and all of the summer school students and is sure that everyone is going to have a fantastic time.


Charlotte Nolan (Miss Charlotte)

Charlotte started dancing at the age of 4 and after watching 'Cats' in London's West End decided that she must follow her dream to be a dancer. Charlotte attended SLP College where she gained her 3 year Musical Theatre Diploma as well as her ISTD Advanced 2 exams in Ballet, Tap and Modern-the highest grades attainable. Charlotte also attended NAPA in Hull where she gained her FDI's (ISTD Teaching qualifications) in Ballet, Tap and Modern and is at present at the Judith Hockaday School in Swindon where she is completing her CDE's in Ballet, Tap and Modern.

Charlotte has performed in Disneyland Resort Paris, at the Alhambra Theatre in Bradford, Criterian Theatre in London's West End and at many corporate events throughout the UK and still continues to perform around her teaching commitments. Charlotte has a wide variety of teaching experience and has taught at well respected institutions such as Northern Dance Centre and ElliTe Studio's as well as briefly teaching classes for Classique Academy in the spring. Miss Charlotte can't wait to see some familiar faces at the summer school as well as meeting lots of new ones.


During the Emersons Green course there will also be extra CRB checked helpers and professionals and at both venues qualified first aiders on hand.
